Hopi kachina dolls or kachina figures are figurines carved, usually from cottonwood roots, by the Hopi people to teach young girls and brides about the existence of the kachinas or katsinam, immortal beings who bring rain, control other aspects of the natural world and society, and act as messengers between humans and the spirit world.

These figurines are still made and used within the Hopi community, while other kachina are carved and sold as works of art. Other Pueblo peoples, and later Navajo carvers, carved figures similar to the tihu kachina as works of art. SOURCE WIKIPEDIA

This painting refers to shamanism, especially the Toltec indians and the books and ideas of Carlos Castaneda. We see the sorcerer, sitting underneath a cactus, in a kind of meditation, which transforms his human form into his energetic form, called ‚The Luminous Egg‘

Along the strands contained within this energetic egg, travels the so called ‚assamblage point‘. This is the point which holds perception in a specific place, manifesting diffrent worlds, equally real as our familiar reality. The ancient sorcerers, also called ‚Seers‘ had perfected this manipulation. When they performed this maneuver, they often encountered different life-forms, like anorganic beings, alien creatures and so called cryptides (extinct and/or mythical creatures) which sometimes are still witnessed nowadays.
